Ways CBD Can Help Athletes

September 5, 2019

Ways CBD can help athletes is a raging topic in today's media.

Athletes and active individuals need their bodies to work properly in order to be successful.  Placing the body in situations of intense training and competitions can sometimes wear it down.  We believe and have seen in our own training that CBD can provide recovery to muscles and joints by giving them a helping hand when needed.  Anyone who has ever competed knows the importance of sleep and recovery.  CBD supports a good night’s sleep and allows the individual to wake up sharper and focused.  It also allows for the individual to reach a deep sleep in which recovery is optimal.

Many individuals might experience anxious feelings before competition regardless if it is a game or their first marathon.  CBD has been well documented in assisting in anxiety and many athletes take it before competition to remedy these feelings.

The body of research on the ways CBD can help athletes will continue to grow on CBD and inflammation.  It is important to understand that inflammation is typically the bodies response to a harmful stimulus. Unfortunately, for most athletes and active individuals, their habits are what contributes to this stimulus.  Cannabidiol (CBD) has a distinct way of interacting with the endocannabinoid system that appears very promising for therapeutic applications with relation to inflammation.1

At the start of 2018, The World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from its banned substance list acknowledging its benefits.  Please contact us with questions today as our founder and president has 8 years’ experience as a Director of Collegiate Strength and Conditioning, is certified through the Collegiate Strength Coaches Association and earned a M.S. from the School of Exercise Science at Marshall University.
